Chicago Bulls at Utah Jazz Weds. Feb. 9, 2011 9 p.m. EST
Two of the most talented point guards in the NBA will go head-to-head on Wednesday night as Derrick Rose’s Chicago Bulls travel to Utah to take on Deron Williams and the Jazz. Not only will this game be entertaining to watch with two of the league’s best at the point battling it out, but it will mark the first time that forward Carlos Boozer returns to Utah.
In the offseason, it was uncertain whether or not free agent Carlos Boozer would return to the Utah Jazz or sign with the Miami Heat, New York Knicks or the Chicago Bulls. Even though the consensus was that he might decide to stay with Deron Williams and company, the former All-Star forward decided to play alongside Derrick Rose instead.
So far, that has seemed to be the right move by Boozer as the Bulls have quickly turned into one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, but in a way for the Jazz to make up for the void in the paint, they acquired forward/center Al Jefferson from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Utah Jazz may be getting back on track as of late and still seem to be playoff bound at this point in time, but I believe the Chicago Bulls are still without a doubt the better team coming into this matchup. The most intriguing part of this game will be Rose against Williams, but the Bulls have more weapons and are a better defensive team.
As of right now, the Utah Jazz are favored to win this game with a -1, but I believe that is only because they are playing at home. The Jazz may be a great home team with one of the loudest crowds in the NBA, but the Bulls will be too much for them to handle.
