Los Angeles Lakers at Cleveland Cavaliers Weds. Feb. 16, 2011 7:30 p.m. EST
The Los Angeles Lakers came into this NBA regular season with high hopes of winning a third straight NBA title and sending legendary head coach Phil Jackson off with his record 12th ring. Even though there is still plenty of basketball left to be played for Kobe Bryant and company, the Lakers are noticeably struggling as they have lost two straight games against the Orlando Magic and the Charlotte Bobcats coming into their matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The loss against the Magic last Sunday was too much of a surprise to the defending champs as they were coming off an emotional win over their arch rivals in the Boston Celtics and a big win over the New York Knicks in the Big Apple. These two impressive wins put the Lakers back on the map in terms of considering them a legitimate title contender, but the consecutive losses to the Magic and the Bobcats have people questioning the team’s consistency.
On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers will travel to Cleveland in their last game of a seven-game road trip. Not only will the Lakers will be able to get back on track against arguably the worst team in the league in the Cavaliers, but it will be their last game before the All-Star break where this team will get some much needed rest.
As of right now, the Cleveland Cavaliers are big underdogs once again as the Los Angeles Lakers are the heavy favorites with a -11 point spread. Even though this is a fairly large point spread, I believe that taking the Lakers might be the best option as they will use this game as a tune up before they finish the week by hosting the 2010 NBA All-Star weekend. This is going to be some great NBA betting action.
