1-Los Angeles Lakers (53-20)

The two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers continue to stay red-hot as they have won seven straight games and a league-best 15-1 since the All-Star break. Even though people doubted this team before the All-Star game, things have definitely since then as the Lakers now look like the team to beat in the Western Conference once again.

2-Chicago Bulls (53-19)

With NBA MVP frontrunner Derrick Rose leading the way, the Chicago Bulls have quickly turned into the best team in the Eastern Conference and look like they could quite possibly clinch the number one seed heading into the playoffs.

3-Miami Heat (51-22)

The Miami Heat may have gotten a lot of bad press earlier in the season for being unable to close out games or compete with the best of the best in the league, but now LeBron James and company seem to be back on track as they are playing at an extremely high level and might be able to clinch the second seed in the East.

4-Dallas Mavericks (52-21)

Even though the Dallas Mavericks might not be getting the attention of the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers or the league leading San Antonio Spurs, Dirk Nowitzki and company are playing really well at this point in the season and might be able to get ahead of the Lakers with a win on Thursday in Los Angeles.

5-San Antonio Spurs (57-16)

Throughout the majority of the NBA regular season, the consensus around the league has been that the San Antonio Spurs are arguably the best team in the league, but with injuries to Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker the outlook for this team isn’t looking so good.

6-10 Boston Celtics (51-21), Denver Nuggets (44-29), Oklahoma City Thunder (48-24), Orlando Magic (47-26) and Memphis Grizzlies (41-33)
