Training camp opens today for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the training camp roster has been announced.  The initial roster was announced on Monday, but there has been an addition to the roster.

Rookies that have been added to the roster including today’s new addition include Elijah Milsap, Jerome Dyson, Demond Carter (Tweety) as well as Longar Longar.

Milsap was with Lousiana-Lafayeette for two seasons and then played last year with the University of Alabama – Birmingham.  During his sinle season in Birmingham, he recorded an average of 16.1 points, 1.8 assists, 9.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals as well as 33.1 minutes over 34 games, all of which were starts.  His 9.5 rebound average ranked in first position in the Conference USA.

Dyson started at Connecticut for four years, where he averaged 14.4 points, 1.7 steals, 2.9 assists as well as 30.4 minutes over 113 games, including 106 starts.  At UConn, he finished in 12th for all-time points with 1,630 points in his career.

Carter from Baylor played four whole seasons with the University at which time he averaged 11 points, 1.2 steals, 2.2 rebounds as well as 30.3 minutes over 131 games, including 89 starts.  Leaving Baylor, Carter was the all-time leader with 29 Big 12 wins, 131 games played and 3,973 minutes played.

Longar was with Oklahoma for four seasons where he averaged 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds as well as 17.8 minutes over 112 games, 45 of which were starts.  He then went on to the NBA Development League where he averaged 6.0 points, 1.1 blocks, 5.5 rebounds as well as 20.4 minutes over 11 games, four of which were starts with Bakersfield Jam and Los Angeles D-Fenders.

The Thunder will play their first preseason game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, October 6.

The rest of the training camp roster includes Cole Aldrich, Eric Maynor, Nick Collison, Royal Ivey, Daequan Cook, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Morris Peterson, Jeff Green, Nenand Kristic, Byron Mullens, Thabo Sefolosha, Serge Ibaka, Russell Westbrook and D.J. White.
