The LeBron James free agency saga is officially over and more than one team are disappointed with the outcome as the Miami Heat really cashed in this summer by signing the three biggest names in the free agent market with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and King James all heading to South Beach.

Now the rest of the league will try and do what they can to compete with the new super power in the NBA, but with the majority of big-name free agents are gone and arguably the best available has just agreed to a sign-and-trade. Continue Reading…

It wasn’t until last night that it was clear that the Miami Heat needed to trade Michael Beasley from the team.  Why?  Because it wasn’t until last night that we found out that LeBron James was joining Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade in Miami to play next season.  Once the decision was made, it was obvious that it was time to get rid of Beasley because there simply wasn’t enough room left to pay his salary.

Beasley has been with the Heat for two years now being the second overall draft pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.  He was supposed to be really good but hasn’t quite shown that spark for the Heat just yet.  Last season with Miami, Beasley recorded an average of 6.2 rebounds and 14.8 points. LeBron James is leaning towards joining D-Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami
Added July 8th, 2010 by Ryan

The NBA free agent market will hit its climax on Thursday night at 9pm EST as the biggest name in the NBA free agency will officially announce which team he plans to play with next season.

There has been no big-name free agent NBA player more sot after or more pursued by multiple NBA franchises in the history of the league than two-time NBA MVP LeBron James. No matter which way you shake it, LeBron has single handedly ruled this NBA free agent market.

Even though LeBron James will be announcing what will be his next team Thursday night, or possibly his re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his future is still very much up in the air and the New York Knicks would also have a great chance of signing this superstar. Continue Reading…

The Boston Celtics are still licking their wounds after losing game seven of the NBA Finals to their archrivals in the Los Angeles Lakers, but even though the loss to the Lakers was a hard thing to swallow, they must move on and they have done just that by already making some key moves for next season.

The three biggest priorities for the Boston Celtics heading into the offseason was re-signing Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and convincing head coach Doc Rivers to come back for at least one more year. Continue Reading…

Decision Time for LeBron James
Added July 8th, 2010 by Stacy

Finally, Thursday night is the end to the speculation that has been all around for the past few months.  He is announcing to the world on national television where he will be playing for the 2010-2011 NBA season.  He will be making his announcement in Greenwich, Connecticut, at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.

Is his decision to stay with the Cavaliers in Cleveland or will he decide to join his two buds, Bosh and Wade, in Miami?  Or will he head to New York, whom have decided that it is time to give up on the thought of him joining the team or will he enter into the legacy of none other than Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls? Jermaine O’Neal recently entered the market as a free agent.  The center reportedly signed with the Boston on Thursday.  Reportedly, he and the Celtics have come to an agreement for a two-year contract deal and will acquire nearly $5.8 million for the 2010-2011 NBA season.

The center turns 32 this coming October and in his 14-year career, he has played with a total of four different NBA teams including the Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat.  Last season, O’Neal was with the Miami Heat where he started 70 total games in center position and recorded an average of 13.6 points, 1.4 blocks, and 6.9 rebounds. With all eyes on Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh and LeBron James, the other big-name free agents have flown somewhat under the radar and gone unnoticed.

The one player that was thought to be a perfect complimentary player to LeBron or D-Wade next season was the Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer. Even though Stoudemire and Bosh were by far the more desired All-Star forwards in this free agent market, Boozer could have been the deciding factor for some of the big-name players to make the move to a different team. Bosh is Joining Wade in Miami; Will James?
Added July 7th, 2010 by Stacy

The NBA free agency opened up six days ago on July 1 and there is a huge list of highly successful players that are available to go where they please and to whatever teams offers them the most money.

Dwayne Wade has previously stated that if he were to sign with the Miami Heat that he was sure to have either Chris Bosh or LeBron James as a teammate there.  Did you guys believe him?  Well, if you didn’t, then you should have.

Wednesday, Wade and Bosh ended all the speculation and rumors of who was going where, when they both decided to join the Miami Heat; Bosh will sign and Wade will stay.  Wade has no idea what his new contract will consist of but he’s not worried.  Same goes for Chris Bosh.  Continue Reading…

Even though the NBA season ended a few weeks ago with the Los Angeles Lakers winning their second straight NBA title against the Boston Celtics, the NBA has still been a hot topic as NBA free agency is officially underway with some big-names becoming available to the highest bidder.

There is no doubt that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are the big fish in this free agency pool, but there are some other big-names that were a lot of talk for opting out of their current contracts. Continue Reading…

We just got through going through three of the biggest surprises of Thursday night’s 2010 NBA Draft but there is more.  While this will be the second and final installment of the biggest surprises, there are plenty other shockers that were out there besides the ones listed in these two articles.  However, in my opinion, these are some of the biggest surprises.

Devin Ebanks (pictured) – This one wasn’t expected to go as late as he did but kept falling down the board as another player was called.  Ebanks was finally chosen by the Los Angeles Lakers at the number 43 pick overall.  Why such a shocker?  Ebanks was ranked as one of the draft’s best defenders but likely slipped in the draft due to the lack of development in his offensive abilities.
