The one thing that is made the NCAA Tournament extremely popular over the years and a must watch for even people who don’t follow college basketball is the upset factor and the fact that any team could go the distance and win a national championship. This season we have already seen a couple big upsets as the Louisville Cardinals and the Georgetown Hoyas have already fallen at the hands of lesser opponents, but by far the biggest upset came in the third round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament with the one seeded Pittsburgh Panthers falling to the eighth-seeded Butler Bulldogs. Over the past couple of years, both the UCLA Bruins (7) and the Michigan State Spartans (10) have really struggled to play at a high level in college basketball despite being amongst the elite teams in the past.
