This Major League Soccer season will be a season without David Beckham.  More than likely, Beckham will not be able to resume playing until sometime this November more than likely.   He originally anticipated on returning in September since his recovery was anticipated to take about six months but his recovery is roughly two months behind hence the now estimated November return.

34-year-old Beckham suffered an injury of the Achilles tendon.  This Achilles tendon injury prevented him from participating in his fourth World Cup with England. He underwent surgery just last month when he ruptured a tendon whilst at AC Milan on loan.  He says that he probably won’t find himself running for at least another three months and is discouraged that he won’t get to play for the Galaxy this season, which ends toward the end of October.  Of course, if his team makes it to the play-offs, he may very well be able to play if the rest of his recovery goes according to plan.

He plans on pushing and working as hard as he can to get back on the field with his team and the ball; however, this is an injury that does take time to heal and he realizes that.  He has been trying for the past couple of years to work as hard as he could and enter the English squad essentially for the World Cup.  This dream has now materialized for a bit or it seems to with this injury so he is very disappointed and frustrated.

As for England games, the next one that he will probably be ready for will be the 2010 European Championship against Wales in March of 2011.  And although he won’t be there to play, he is scheduled to travel to the South Africa World Cup with England.
