KD Passes Hakeem For 12th On Scoring List

Marvin Jones Jr., a seasoned wide receiver, said on Instagram on Tuesday

that he is "stepping away" from the Detroit Lions "to take care of personal family matters."

Following his statement, Jones's release by the Lions was reported as a procedural action. This season, Jones has five receptions for 35 yards in six games.

Due to non-injury-related personal concerns, Jones, 33, did not travel with the club on Sunday when they played the Baltimore Ravens.

"I just want to say that I have so much love and respect for the Ford Family, the city of Detroit, my teammates and coaches," he stated in the message.

In a nutshell, I'm leaving the team to attend to personal family problems.

I cannot take care of my family from a distance and be the player/person that I need to be for this team, even if this was not an easy decision to make.

Over the years, this organisation has been incredible in providing love and support to my family and me, and this time is no exception.

I am grateful for that. I shall be cheering you on at every turn, brothers and coaches! This year is it! Get going.
