Titans TRADE Kevin Byard to Eagles

The Titans and the Eagles agree to trade All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the former.

In a Monday deal with the Tennessee Titans, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired safety Kevin Byard, adding much-needed depth to their injured secondary.

The Titans received safety Terrell Edmunds from the Eagles along with two draft picks.

For Byard, who was raised in Philadelphia and counts former Eagles great Brian Dawkins among his favorite players, the deal represents a return home.

Byard expressed his gratitude to the Titans organization and team supporters on social media, along with his excitement about joining the Eagles.

Byard will reunite with A.J. Brown, his old colleague from the Titans. Brown is a talented wide receiver that the Eagles selected in the 2022 draft from Tennessee.

With so much talent on the Eagles roster going into the season, safety was the biggest question mark. After a string of injuries at the position, those doubts intensified.

Due to a rib injury, Reed Blankenship was unable to play in the team's victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Justin Evans is presently on injured reserve due to a knee ailment.
