March 7, 2012 officially marks the end of an era in the Indianapolis Colts franchise. On this day, four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning agreed to part ways with the one and only franchise that he has played for during his NFL career. After much debate and a lot of consideration from both sides, Peyton Manning will officially become a free agent and available to the highest bidder.

As arguably one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, the one-time Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl MVP will get a lot of interest around the league looking to sign the 36-year-old superstar. Even though Manning may no longer be the dominant quarterback of old and may only have a few good years left in him, the consensus is that he could be the most sought after free agent quarterback in NFL history.

During his time with the Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning shattered all sorts of NFL records and cemented himself as an elite QB with the likes of Tom Brady (New England Patriots) and Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints). Manning passed for 54,828 yards and 399 touchdowns with the Colts with a career passer rating of 94.9.

Now with the Indianapolis Colts in his rearview, Peyton Manning will be working the free agent market to land a huge contract with a team that can compete for the rest of his NFL career. The current frontrunners for Manning are the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and the Washington Redskins.

With all four of the teams mentioned above having quarterback issues for years now, the acquisition of Peyton Manning could instantly turn around these struggling NFL franchises. There will almost certainly be a bidding war from here on out in order to add Manning.
