The saga continues for the reigning Sixth Man of the Year as Lamar Odom tries to figure out what to do with his life. No player in the league has had to deal with more tragedy or drama over the past year or so than Mr. Kardashian himself. With multiple family tragedies and being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers after arguably his best season in the NBA, Odom has had to deal with many obstacles consecutively.

Now it appears that the versatile forward could be seriously considering retiring from the game of basketball. There is no question that Odom still has some good years left in him and would make an impact on any team in the league at this point in his career, but the off-the-court struggles and dilemmas seem to be getting to the NBA journeyman.

Recently, Lamar Odom had to tend to his gravely ill father and missed some time with the Dallas Mavericks including a second game against the Los Angeles Lakers this season. With Odom tending to his father and trying to get his mind right, the veteran is taking this time to think about his future both on and off the court and will miss two more games as a result.

There have been some reports saying that retirement is a very real possibility, but another option for the forward could be getting bought out of his contract. Mavs owner Mark Cuban says that will not happen. Despite Cuban saying this, the team will most likely buy him out after the season to make room for Dwight Howard and or Deron Williams.

Needless to say, the future of the league’s best sixth man still remains very much up in the air.
