Perhaps one of the most anticipated games of the week took place on Thursday night as Linsanity traveled down to South Beach to take on the red-hot Miami Heat for the first time since Jeremy Lin took center stage in the Big Apple. The New York Knicks were no doubt confident in their new star point guard and their ability to compete with arguably the best team in the league, but the results on the floor were entirely different.

In without a doubt his worst game thus far as the Knicks starting point guard, Jeremy Lin struggled all night long to get going against an obviously better all-around Heat squad. Coming into this highly anticipated Eastern Conference showdown, NBA MVP frontrunner LeBron James let it be known that he would spend some time guarding the up-and-comer. Not only did LeBron do just that, but the Heat as a whole forced the league’s hottest player to eight turnovers and an ugly 1-for-11 shooting from the floor.

The turnover-trend continues to plague Lin moving forward as he tries to adjust to be a starting point guard in this league and to deal with the target painted on his back by every opposing team the Knicks face from here on out. Lin finished with just eight points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. There is no doubt this kid out of Harvard still has some learning to do in order to contend with the best of the best in the East.

As for the Big 3 of the Heat, LeBron finished just shy of a triple-double with 20 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and an impressive five steals. Dwyane Wade 22 points while Chris Bosh finished with a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds to help Miami top New York, 102-88.
