Back in the 80’s, the two teams that went back and forth as NBA champions and had arguably one of the biggest rivalries in sports was the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. The two players that were the faces of the franchises back then were none other than Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. These days both Bird and Magic are highly involved and highly respected in terms of their opinions in the NBA and recently the Celtics legend made an interesting statement.

Added February 8th, 2012 by Ryan

The Los Angeles Clippers came into this shortened NBA season as a team that had completely changed the outlook of the struggling NBA franchise with the acquisition of superstar point guard Chris Paul. With Paul coming to L.A. and not to the team that everyone thought he would, the Clippers went from perennial bottom feeder to playoff contender. Not only was Chris Paul a great addition alongside Blake Griffin, but the Clippers were also able to sign veteran Chauncey Billups. Continue Reading…

Ravens’ running back Ricky Williams retires from the NFL
Added February 8th, 2012 by James

Baltimore is still a team on the rise in the NFL with a great chance of competing for a Super Bowl title over the next half decade or so, but they will be one man short from here on out as veteran running back Ricky Williams has officially retired from the NFL. Could Phil Jackson replace Mike DAntoni in New York?
Added February 4th, 2012 by Ryan

After being swept by the eventual NBA champion Dallas Mavericks in four games in the playoffs last season, 11-time NBA champion head coach Phil Jackson of the Los Angeles Lakers finally called it quits by retiring as arguably the greatest NBA head coach of all-time. Even though the Zen Master was set on retiring for the past few years, the consensus around the league is that he might not be done with basketball and could give it another shot as a head coach at some point in time. Added February 4th, 2012 by James

Super Bowl XLVI is just around the corner and New England Patriots fans around the country have started to get a bit nervous about the health and status of arguably their best receiver in tight end Rob Gronkowski. The early reports of Gronkowski’s high ankle sprain were that he was day-to-day and that the Pro Bowl tight end should be good to go for the big game against the New York Giants on Sun. NBA Power Rankings: Heat top Bulls for No. 1 spot
Added February 3rd, 2012 by Scott

#1 Miami Heat (16-5)

LeBron James and company struck a big blow recently by getting the best of reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose and his Chicago Bulls in South Beach. This win is what propelled the Heat over the Bulls in the NBA power rankings this week, but it also dropped Chicago from the top spot to number four.

If the Miami Heat continues to play this well with a healthy Dwyane Wade and LeBron James competing for another MVP award, there could be no stopping this team in the Eastern Conference this season. Continue Reading…
