The Mark IV employs an all-new 30.4-megapixel sensor, has a native ISO range of 100-32,000 (which is expandable to 50-102,400), and uses Canon's Digic 6+ image processor.
"We add to the Canon EOS 5D series family the EOS 5D Mark IV - the first in our 5D series to offer 4K video and built-in Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity", said Canon's Yuichi Ishizuka.
The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR is now scheduled to be available in early September 2016 for an estimated retail price of $3,499.00 (Rs. 2,34,627) for the body only.
With the full-frame DSLR CMOS sensor, the EOS 5D Mark IV is able to capture images in stunning detail.

Opposition continued up until the declaration of the monument on Wednesday. "Today we have people who are extremely excited". The Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument designation is the result of a years-long effort by the Quimby family.
Unlike its siblings, though, the 5D Mark IV sensor has a brand new feature for Canon: dual pixel RAW shooting. The AF system, improved over previous Canon 5D series models, includes expanded coverage across the frame that supports AF at maximum apertures up to f/8 with all 61 points for high-precision autofocus even when using EF super-telephoto lenses with an EF extender. The metering system uses a 150,000-pixel RGB+IR sensor to ensure exposures are precise and to help the camera better track objects and lock focus on faces.
Whilst in design and handling the Mark IV appears to remain very close to its Mark III predecessor, in terms of video spec and shooting capabilities the camera is much closer to the EOS-1D X Mark II DSLR.
Being a camera that's suitable for many different shooting scenarios, Canon included specs such as 7FPS continuous shooting, a 3.2-inch touch screen and Wi-Fi capabilities to allow extreme flexibility to the user. As the most popular DSLR camera series with both professional and enthusiast photographers, it promises to be a blend of new and exciting features and new advanced technology. The 5D Mark IV also includes the Time-lapse movie mode that was first seen in the EOS 5DS and 5DS R cameras. The new EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Standard Zoom lens features an improved four-stop image stabilization as well as ghosting and flare reduction with air sphere coating. You can also grab 8.8-Megapixel still frames in-camera while shooting in 4K. Recalibrated algorithms work together with high-speed CPU and inner focusing ring USM for faster, more accurate autofocusing (full-time manual focus also available).
Canon doesn't share RRPs for its cameras and lenses - saying that "prices will be set at dealer discretion" - but all three new bits of gear will go on sale from 8 September. The 4K video can be captured at 30 fps or 24 fps. While the camera itself is unchanged, Canon will be packaging it in a refreshed kit, complete with the new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens and a unique Wi-Fi adapter that slides into an SD card slot.
